Let's see how many people pass this up because it's a One Direction song!

In addition to being one of the sweetest songs I've heard for a while now, it occurred to me last night that 'Little Things' also applies (mostly) to the relationship between a pet and their owner. Or maybe it's just me. ((C'mon- "All those conversations are a secret that I keep, though it makes no sense to me." Who hasn't talked to their pet about something that's bothering them, if only because you know they can't tell anyone else? They have no idea what we're saying. But they pay such close attention.))

This is also to let my Watchers know that I'm still around. Sorry I've been so inactive lately, but I've been in a pretty severe art slump for quite a while now. This is the kind of stuff I've been doing- simple sketches that I use to practice with my markers. This is the first thing I've done in a long time that I'm actually somewhat proud of. Mainly because I feel like I'm improving with both human and animal anatomy, as well as with my markers.

As far as the characters, this is Morgan and her horse Dragonboy. From the ages of eleven to thirteen Morgan worked at various odd jobs to afford to buy her favorite school horse, who was meant to be sold from the stable where she helped her parents work. Now at fifteen she still helps her parents at the same stable, her work a trade-off to allow her to keep Dragonboy there.
He has a slight lameness in one leg, which is what prompted the stable owners to decide to sell him. With some physical therapy its improved, but he still has bad days. Those bad days tend to have bad timing as well, and have kept him and Morgan out of some trail rides and day trips, not to mention events and shows.

Despite that weakness, he's a quiet, gentle, and generally bulletproof twelve-year-old gelding. His favorite treats are golden delicious apples, and only golden delicious. Try to toss a Macintosh or Gala at him and he'll glare at you like you've handed him a wadded up piece of paper painted red. He also has a tendency to stand on your toes if you groom him too hard, or too fast, or if he's just in a bad mood.

And yet Morgan can't imagine how anyone could not be hopelessly in love with him on first sight.

I have no idea what breed he is. Forgive me. And no I don't know how the two of them are standing that allows his neck to be straight like that. Maybe Morgan is standing on a bucket or something. And I probably should have added a shine to his eyes. Oh well.
