Thunder was a good horse. Or at least he thought so. And he'd been patient.
He'd dealt with a long, boring ride. He was minding his manners around the other horses and the other people. He'd been quiet. He'd been peaceful.
It seemed he was here alone with one of the little humans. He preferred The Food Lady, but the little humans were all right too. Usually.
This was the colt, the quieter of the two littles. Thunder didn't mind him.
Thunder hadn't complained when he'd been led away from the horses he was meeting, and tethered. He didn't mind the colt brushing out his coat. But now, oh, now the human was smearing odd-smelling goop on his beautiful coat. Thunder was having none of it.
He'd figured out that the table where the colt was getting the goop was directly behind him. Perfect.
It would take only a single kick, not even his hardest.
He lifted his hind leg.
The colt was oblivious.
Just one good kick...

Thunder is already causing trouble. 
Poor Declan. He's going to be having an interesting time. Especially since Thunder isn't really his favorite horse anyway.
